The Jeronimo Keith Band is a trio that originated in Dallas TX and is now based professionally out of Los Angeles and New York. It is a modern, contemporary take on '70s-style American rock with a Texas/Southern rock influence that cannot be misinterpreted. A 2015 NMMA (New Mexico Music Awards) nominee for their song 'Purples, Reds and Blues' in the 'Best Blues' category, their debut self-titled CD 'Jeronimo Keith' is receiving local and International radio air-play and streaming worldwide online on the very popular indie FM stations KBAC 98.1 - Santa Fe NM, Kansas City Blues-KCOR online radio w/ Steve Porter, and European radio stations; Red Hot Blues Show, Radio Vilafant 107.3fm - RÀDIO A LA CARTA - Barcelona Spain with Josep Palmada. Featuring passionate vocals and driving guitar, a hallmark of the Jeronimo Keith Band, his self-titled debut CD has presented a depth of feeling that he says, "Sometimes I feel it reveals too much. But then I remember it's nothing everyone hasn't felt before."
LATEST REVIEW - The New Mexican (SF Reporter)
"Here is the challenge with creating convincing blues music in 2015: How does one produce a sound that pays tribute to a time-tested form in a way that avoids the pitfalls of a genre that has become riddled with clichés and platitudes? The Jeronimo Keith Band seems to have found an answer that works for them, and it’s a sound that works well for the listener of the band’s debut self-titled album. The answer is diversity. Released earlier this year, the eight-song effort explores a variety of subgenre blues, ranging from train shuffles and swing blues to Southern and alternative rock. As one might expect, Keith’s electric guitar propels the tunes with nimble and melodic dexterity, and his contemplative lyrics (“Try to stay strong by writing a song/Don’t care if I’m doing it wrong”) reside nicely on top of the mix. Jess Sussmann (drums) and Jesus Cabrales (bass) anchor the band with journeyman-like competence. This record won’t create any new converts among those who view contemporary blues through a jaundiced eye. But in the hands of the Jeronimo Keith Band, the venue-shaking, roots-rocking tradition of straight-ahead American blues-rock remains nicely represented in Santa Fe." (Todd E. Lovato - SF Reporter)
